Görlitzer Park

explores the social life of one of Berlin’s liveliest parks. Here, people of extremely diverse backgrounds gather to just ‘be together’. This piece focuses on the park’s surface. The challenge consists in conveying the vivacity and turmoil without making literal, anecdotic references.

The ground, like paint an inert material, bears the textures and patterns expressing the human presence in this park. The canvas follows the figures of trampled grass witnessing the intense social interaction in the park, as the witness of the numerous crowds.
